A Bit of a Spark

She rang round for an electrician. Everything was off; lights, heating, internet. He arrived within the hour, ‘I’m Sparks,’ he said, ‘from OK Electrics.’ She let him in, he was rather nice. He whizzed around the house checking things.

‘Is Sparks a nickname?’ she asked, ‘because you’re an electrician.’

‘No,’ he said, ‘my dad named me after a 70s group, my first name is actually Sparks, causes all sorts of confusion in my line of work.’

‘I’m named after a 70s band too,’ she lied.

‘Oh really, which one?’ he inquired.

‘Kiss,’ she said, hopefully. And a spark ignited between them.
