"Is Carl coming?” mum shouted.
“Oh, that’s a shame. We got him a really good gift this year!”
“I’m breaking up with him. Just didn’t want to do it at Christmas.”
“Oh honey, I think that will be good for you.”
“You do? But you always said you liked him?”
“Yeah for your sake, but… well he’s quite boring to be honest.”
There’re three knocks on the door, then “Surprise!” as Carl walks in.
After dinner, Carl gets up with a box in his hand, then on one knee. Carl don’t do it. “Will you marry me?” Fuck.
