A Game Changer

The voice inside her head nagged Mary. The laundry needs sorting. You’re out of milk. Is that a cobweb above the kitchen cabinet?

Lockdown was a game changer in more than one way. She tapped on Mahjong tiles, beat opponents feuding words, slayed dragons, constructed and managed a farm.

Her favourite game was crushing candies. Nothing gave her more satisfaction than smashing sweets with a lollipop.

She glanced at her husband’s bleeding corpse on the kitchen tiles. She killed the squabbling monster who had opposed her happy world of gaming.

Mary felt inner peace ignoring the inner voice. Another clean sweep.
