Chris Single
Chris never really wore shirts. That’s what struck him as odd about the cufflinks he’d discovered at the bottom of his wife’s wardrobe. They shined in their presentation box next to the gift tag featuring snowflakes and hearts, unwritten on. Perhaps they were the kids’ idea.
He held his disappointment in on Christmas morning after opening his presents; socks and a DVD. His wife hadn’t noticed the shirt he’d bought himself for the occasion.
Then, there they were. Those very same cufflinks. Adorning the wrists of the coworker helping her move out of the house, barely a week after the separation.
