Claus of Life
Red, blue, red, blue, the Christmas lights flash, reflecting off scattered glittering decorations.
Mum and dad are asleep in their seats, dad's snore sounds out like a horn, mum's spilled red wine down her front.
I smell Christmas pudding. The fire roars and makes me sleepy, but I still stare at the door waiting for Santa.
The sleigh bells blare, but they don't sound right.
Finally, I spy a shadow through the window, Santa. He comes closer, but he's not in red. He wears a yellow helmet like Sam on TV.
"There's a child," he shouts to his reindeer. "He's alive."
