Ocean on the Rocks

You clamber onto the shoreline rocks and gaze out to sea. From your vantage point the ocean appears vast, indestructible and constant. You are aware that others on the planet view it this way too. Why else would they have plundered its seafood reserves, dumped waste in it and polluted once crystal clear waters? You despair of their actions.

You look towards the beach. A group of people are heading your way, the remains of their picnic strewn about the sand. You slip into a rock pool to wait until they pass, your defences obsolete, your pincers bound by fishing line.
