Perspective by Hux Elliot

A sharp sensation lead me to the realisation my time had come. The top of my head was removed. My brains swiftly extracted. Empty, with no thoughts, no emotions. Serrated edges entered my skin, creating one cavity and then, another. Vision, at last I could see, but only darkness. Once more I felt the dragging of a cold, hard blade in my flesh. A mouth? A goofy, toothy mouth. Warmth followed, accompanied by a glowing flame. My face illuminated through the darkness. Eyes shining bright, my mouth echoing a fearful grin.

The children smiled back at me and shouted "Pumpkin's ready!".
