There was no traffic in the streets. On the pavement, Jenny yawned hungrily from under her cardboard blanket. Scruffy lay curled up against her side. The warmth of the dog couldn’t prevent her teeth from chattering.
She peered up to the sky where snowflakes whirled abundantly. Sitting up, she noticed the door of the luxury department store stood ajar. Curiously, Jenny approached the shop and entered. Dashing around, she feasted her eyes on the products and paraphernalia. Dumbfounded, she gazed at the delicacies in the food halls.
“Wow! Scruffy, this year we’re celebrating Christmas! Stuffed turkey, honey-glazed ham or roast beef?”
