The Lover's Touch by Phillip Sheahan
“I wish for a tattoo of the most beautiful thing you have ever seen. And I want it where only my lover will see it,” said the woman with the alabaster skin.
“My art is dark,” replied the tattooist.
“The blind are not afraid of darkness.”
“And your lover...?”
“I have no lover. But I live with hope.”
On her wedding night her lover described the exquisite portrait of the girl with alabaster skin and flowing hair tattooed on her back. Blind to this inked art, she grew to know its everlasting beauty through the caresses of her lover, the tattooist.
