The Obsessive Me
I went back to re-tap again. And again. And again. I double checked the oven was off, the fridge was shut, the lights were off. Taps tightened. Back door locked. Electrics unplugged. I couldn’t risk something happening whilst I was out.
I finally managed to leave the house twenty minutes later and triumphantly locked the door. And checked it. Three, four, five times. Once more for good luck. But as I got to the car I thought, what if there is a fire whilst I’m out? Or a flood? I had better check again, just to be on the safe side.
